I have not managed to complete my posts to finish up what I was doing with the Chaos Marines and Army Painter Quick Shade. This is because I have been taking the pictures of the miniatures with my phone. And I took some of them with the camera on it held upside down.
The issue here is that even though I have turned the images up the right way now they always upload upside down.
As soon as I figure out how to remedy this I will complete the posts.
I also Will be doing a Set on some Skeletons that I put through the dip at the same time.
Veknoid's Miniature Paintworks
This a blog of miniatures that I have worked on. As well as my thoughts about Miniature painting products that I have used from various companies. Another of it's intended uses is as a source of information for any mini painters out there. If there are any products that you would like my ideas on please feel free to ask. I am also more then happy to share my painting techniques and as well as the colours that I use on any given miniature.

Army Painted Quick Shades - Chaos Marines - Thoughts and Preperations
Recently I have managed to get my hands on some Army Painter Products. I am very, very happy with their Tufts and Coloured Sprays. Especially the Coloured Sprays.
I have been doing a little research into their product lines and have taken an interest in the Quick Shades. They are designed to "dip" you Block painted minis into and when dry they autoshade the figures. I was very sceptical about this whole process. There are a lot of youtube tutorials out there for the product but frankly you can never be sure what type of editing or off screen alterations are going on. So I decided to grab the Strong Shade and Dark Shade and give it a shot.
For the initial tests I have nabbed three Chaos Space Marines out of my Brothers range.
I will be trialing three slightly different methods on the Chaos Marines. Hopefully this will let me pick one method that suits my tastes.
All of the Chaos Marines will be sprayed Dragon Red.
Chaos Marine 1
This figure will be block painted and Dipped. I can't bring myself to imerse a painted mini (even a block painted Chaos Marine) into paint. So I will be heavily coating it with a large craft Brush. This is another way that the guys at Army Painted suggest to use the product.
Chaos Marine 2
This Figure will be done with the same initial method as the first. But after the Shade has dried I will be doing a small amount of simple highlights. This is basically to see if I can paint over the Dip once it has dried.
Chaos Marine 3
I will be block painting this one as well but then I will also do some strong highlights on the figure before I dip it. I have to make sure that the colours are quite distinct when I do this as I need to make sure that they will show through the dip.
When they are Dry I will spray one with Army Painters Matt Varnish and another with Dullcote. Dullcote is my prefered Varnishing medium. I find the results form it to be absolutly brilliant! Though you can not argue with the cheaper price for volume of the Army Painter Spray.
Pictures and Comments and results to follow.

Space Wolf Captain (Wolf Lord)
Another Games Workshop Mini here. There are some small conversions to this one.Though they are just swapped out parts, no putty or modeling work. I am still not sure if the new weapons and pack from the current wolf pack sprues are too big on this mini. I am still trying to get the right look and colours in the armour of my Space Wolves.
Again I have used the Army Painter Tufts (winter) and Games Workshops Snow flock. I have used a few other companies snows but I like the Games Workshop one most with Gale Force 9's running a close second. I have not used the Army Painter snow flock yet.

Cadian Guard Test
This is a test mini from the Games Workshop Cadian Guard range. It is for a force that I am working on. The uniform is loosly based off of the colours of my FoW early war British Infantry. He is also one of the First minis that I have used the Army Painter Tuft Grass on (highland tuft). I am becoming a little adicted to using these tufts.
Whenever possible I like to test my colour schemes on metal minis. This is because they are far easier to scratch back.

Super Dungeon Explore Dwarf
This is the Dwarf that I painted from Soda Pop's Super Dungeon Explore range. I am a huge fan of dwarf miniatures. I find that they always have a lot of character about them. I think I am going to have to buy another of this fellow and paint him with a brown beard. For this one though I could not resist the grey/white.
Super Dungeon Explore Paladin
Here's the Paladin from Soda Pop's Super Dungeon Explore range. These minis are seriously cool. I have had a great time painting the two that I have completed so far.The eyes on them demand a lot of attention. I am hoping that I have done them justice.
